Games that need only paper

Pin the nose on the pumpkin: print a big face stencil, tape it to the wall, cut noses from orange paper. Halloween bingo: draw a five-by-five grid and fill it with ghosts, bats, cats and candy. A scavenger hunt: hide ten paper bats around the room. Guess the seeds: one jar, one pumpkin's worth of seeds, one slip of paper each.

Use the free stencils as printables

Our stencils are bold black shapes on white. Print them as colouring pages. Cut them out as templates for paper bats and cats. Use a face stencil as the board for pin the nose. Two Halloween designs and a five-design starter pack are free, with no email needed.

A class party in fifteen minutes

Print one stencil per child. Put out crayons and a bowl of stickers. Run bingo while the colouring dries down. Hand out a goodie bag at the door. Twenty to thirty children, one adult, and nobody needs scissors.

Games worth buying

A ring toss over witch hats, a pumpkin bean-bag toss and a spider bowling set all survive more than one year. They are the three we would buy before anything else.

Bags, prizes and candy

Small paper goodie bags, a variety bag of candy, and one novelty per bag. Glow sticks and spider rings are the cheapest prizes that children actually want.
